The rigid expanded polyurethane boards

With their excellent performance, Tegotherm Polyiso boards are suited for the most severe temperature and humidity application conditions. They are made of rigid expanded polyurethane, a light material with strong resistance to mechanical stress, thermosetting, and both high and low temperature resistant.

The thermal insulation properties of the Tegotherm Polyiso range, together with negligible water absorption and good dimensional stability, are the result of the innovative cross-linked closed cell production process.

MINIMUM THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY

Great insulation with reduced thicknesses
The thermal conductivity indicates the capability of a material to transmit heat. The lower the conductivity of a material, the better its capability to insulate both from heat and cold. Due to its intrinsic characteristics, rigid expanded polyurethane (mainly in its PIR version, like the Tegotherm Polyiso range) is a thermally insulating material that offers great insulation with small thicknesses, with great benefits in terms of costs, volumes and weights. Its use is an effective solution both in new buildings and in the restoration of old ones.

HIGH RESISTANCE TO EXTREME TEMPERATURES

Sudden temperature changes without consequences
Rigid expanded polyurethane is a thermosetting material that can be used with a very wide range of temperatures: from -40 to +90/100 °C. For this reason, the Tegotherm Polyiso range is indicated for all those applications where high temperature differences are an important factor. Tegotherm Polyiso boards can easily withstand both low and high temperatures, and can support extreme temperatures of up to +220 °C (for short periods) without negative effects.

PERFECT DIMENSIONAL STABILITY

Temperature and hygrometric variations are not an issue
In standard insulating boards, irreversible dimensional variations can occur due to temperature variations, relative humidity or water. Dimensional instability can cause serious damage, both in terms of functionality (breaking of the waterproof covering, fissures in the plaster, etc.), and aesthetic appearance (roofs and façades showing the board perimeter marks, uneven areas, etc.). All this is avoided when using Tegotherm Polyiso boards.

GREAT MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE

The ideal density for special strength
Another important characteristic of rigid expanded polyurethane Tegotherm Polyiso boards is their strength. The density of the foam used for their production is normally between 30 and 40 kg/m3. This results in minimum deformation (only 10%) in case of variable compression between 100 and 200 kPa, the standard values that can be measured in normal building application activities.

MINIMUM WATER ABSORPTION

Thanks to the closed cell structure
The closed cell structure of their foam is the reason for the very low water absorption of Tegotherm Polyiso boards. Such absorption is limited to the surface layers when they are subjected to cuts or milling, or if the surface skin is removed.

LONG-LASTING BOARDS

Micro-organism, rodent and chemical resistant
The chemically stable structure of Tegotherm Polyiso boards means that glues, sealant, bitumens, mastics and other chemical products used during the works will never be a problem, in the same way as water (fresh or sea water), detergents, acids and thinners will also never be an issue. With Tegotherm Polyiso there is no risk of putrefaction. On the contrary, there is the guarantee of no attack from mould, insects, micro-organisms, rats and other rodents

TEGOTHERM POLYISO SUPER

Tegotherm Polyiso Super is protected by international patent PCT/IB2015/000025.
Developed in the Research & Development labs and directly created by IWIS technicians, the product is the result of synergy between the companies of the Group: on one side the great production capabilities of the companies specialised in insulating products, on the other a highly technological facer produced in a plant that is one of a kind.

Tegotherm Polyiso Super is a rigid PIR foam board with high thermal insulation characteristics: the low λD=0.023 W/mK thermal conductivity value is possible thanks to the new gas-proof multilayer coating, which keeps the expanding gas within the foam, therefore preserving the thermal performance levels in the long term. The surface coating consists of an aluminium layer, which further increases the insulating properties of the board
