The municipal kennel has been built to replace the existing kennels which were about to undergo renovation works. It covers an area of 30,000 sqm, and its design blends harmoniously with the surrounding environment. The kennel houses a vet service and shelters for over 700 dogs.
The functionality of this 3-storey building is enhanced by architectural and technological features. The building also houses a 160sqm conference room that can be reached along a separate route.

Technology and aesthetics go hand in hand
The circular areas that house the shelters are separated by service corridors that are used by staff and visitors. This particular roof covering (Standard shingles) was chosen very carefully by Tegola Canadese, as the roof had to be both beautiful and functional. The roof of the kennels and of the vet service building is made of laminated wood beams installed onto load-bearing steel tube columns. The wooden framework has sound-deadening properties, as it breaks the sound wave.

Ventilated roof: functionality, comfort and energy savings
The building that houses the vet service and the administration offices features a ventilated roof, which adds to the general performance of the roof.
