PARISH OF SAINT URSULA V. & M. - Sassari
The Parish of Saint Ursula in Sassari is located in an area of the city that is currently being developed. The construction of the church, in compliance with the requirements of Pastoral Note of February 1993 on the designing of new churches, had the objective of upgrading a heterogeneous suburb of the city that initially did not have any recognisable feature.

The building develops around a sequence of “empty spaces” and envelopes parvises, a cloister and sports facilities, among which the tall special shape of the church stands out. The truncated cone shape of the church is enhanced by a beautiful roof made with "Prestige Compact" copper tiles by Tegola Canadese. The roof covers the entire building, incl. the sloping sections and the circular top section.
Prestige Compact shingles are installed with the ventilated facade technique. This solution ensures the roof is extremely durable and requires minimum maintenance. It also enhances the thermal and acoustic performance of the roof.

Wentilated facade: excellent thermal and acoustic insulation
Tegola Canadese has developed a unique construction technique that ensures the ventilation of the roof and walls of buildings. This special technique adds a higher degree of living comfort to buildings, whose bearing structures last longer. Furthermore the ventilated facade helps save on energy costs. The ventilation space between the wall and wall cladding, which is made of Prestige Compact metal tiles, enhances the building’s thermal insulation. In summer this ensures an effective dispersion of any heat build-up in the wall caused by exposure to the sun. In winter it insulates the building against low temperatures.
